Hollow piston cylinder

Hollow piston cylinders are used in conjunction with mechanical clamping elements in hydraulic clamping devices as tension and compression cylinders.

The piston has a through-hole with thread, which can be used for screwing in tie rods, for example. The integrated metal wiper protects the piston from damage caused by metal chips, thus increasing the availability and service life of the cylinder. The external thread of the housing allows a wide range of installation options, including the use of locknuts.

HYDROKOMP offers the hollow piston cylinders in single-acting with spring return and double-acting versions. The hollow piston cylinders are equipped with G1/4 threaded connections for pressure oil supply.

Operating conditions:
With single-acting hollow piston cylinders, the penetration of foreign bodies and liquids into the spring chamber must be prevented by preventive cylinder arrangement or by covering. If required, a ventilation line can also be connected. To ensure that the threads are not damaged during use, the locknuts must always be tightened in accordance with the load. The user must ensure that only tie rods and screws made of materials with a strength class of at least 10.9 are used. This applies in particular to maximum operating pressures of 350 to 500 bar.
